PRINTS
Limited edition prints are reproductions of original works of art. This involves the separation of the colours of the original into four colours; yellow, magenta, cyan, and black. Once the colours have been separated a proof is then taken, and either approved or rejected by the artist. This continues until the artist is satisfied with the colour balance. The separation process is very time consuming and often takes longer than the original painting. Kent's works before 1999 were all reproduced using the offset lithographic press. He now uses his own large format Giclee printers. The prints are then hand signed and numbered by the artist. The prints are done on high quality acid free fine art paper or canvas using pigmented lightfast inks. Kent is one of the very few artists to personally do his own colour separations and printing
CANVAS TRANSFER
Canvas transfers are accomplished by taking the lithographic print, applying a UV protective clear coat, then literally removing the paper back, and "transferring" the ink to the canvas. The results are stunning, and restore the "print" as close as possible to the look and feel of the original.
GICLEE
Giclee comes from the Frence meaning "to spray". Artist quality Giclee printers give a range of colour and depth unsurpassed by any other printing method. They allow the artist to reproduce directly onto watercolour rag or even canvas. The inks used are pigment based and are rated for a lifespan of 200 years without UV protection. On the Canvas prints we apply a special UV protection as well. The prints are guaranteed for the lifetime of the artist.
The frames are of wood, using either a blue/grey, brown, burgundy or custom. Matting is chosen with care to compliment the print and frame. All matts and foam core backer are acid free, with most being rag. We are members of Professional Picture Framers Association and conform to their exacting standards.
